Device verification
Add an authenticator check for sensitive actions
Once enabled, you'll need to enter an authenticator code after the email verification code. Add the key in your app first, then enter the current code to finish setup.
Not enabledWhen this is off, sign-in only checks the email code. Turn it on in three steps if you want a second check.
- Open an authenticator
Use Authenticator or a similar app and add a new account.
- Scan or copy the key
After you show the QR code, a scannable image and a copyable key appear.
- Enter the current code
Type the six digits to finish. The next sign-in will ask for this code as well.
- Add the key
Scan the QR code on the left with your authenticator. If scanning isn't possible, copy the key and add it manually.
- Enter the code
- Finish setup
After confirmation, you'll be asked for an authenticator code after the email verification code each time you log in.
Your authenticator works offline. Keep your device safe; before changing phones, disable protection here and enable it again on your new device.
